2/14/2022 0 Comments Sims 4 mac system requirementsSo they loaded when they were required to be on screen, and it took effort from the computer, and time, and it slowed things down. ![]() ![]() The game has to remember/load the RGB values of up to 16 different slots per item. But in Sims 3 we're talking literally BILLIONS of combinations of textures, all saved per-object, that all have to be loaded. Even Left 4 Dead 2, which randomizes the colors of zombies outfits, uses a simple gradient texture (one texture) to do so. Skyrim has nice streaming because it's all the same trees, all the same textures, etc. But since it's not a static item, you can't really pre-load it or effectively stream it. And you can't load it all at once, because then it has to be loaded into memory. You can't keep all that stuf floaded into memory, it's just not plausible. With 200+ items per house and 3-5 items per sim and 90 sims and 50 lots per neighborhood, that is a LOT to keep track of. The other, Create A Style, let you assign one of hundreds of patterns to FOUR different slots on ever furniture, clothing, etc.and up to 4 color variations per pattern, for a total potential of 16 different customizations per item. Nobody paid attention to what skills their neighbors had, and seeing a single sim have awife and kids 3 weeks after you last saw them wasn't really that big of a deal.) (To me, that's a good thing, because half of that stuff you never noticed to begin with. Because you can't make it do all t hat stuff without.well, making it do all that stuff. It's not like Skyrim where it just keeps a little bit of data on each person and they stand around in the same few spots their entire life, unchanging, or like GTAV where all the people are just doing a random wandering around action, it was a lot more complicated than that- and it's very hard to do that and make it run better. Story Progression has the game worrying about the skills, money, jobs, job performance, relationships, marital status, kids, pregnancies, skill progress, current location, goals, wishes, etc of every single sim in the town, assigning sims to work cash registers, assigning them to jobs, randomly assigning them relationships, kids, promotions, etc.
